Smarter Lunchrooms Movement
As part of our efforts to enhance student well-being, Sodexo has partnered with Cornell University's Center for Behavioral Economics in Child Nutrition Programs to encourage students to select, eat and enjoy nutritious foods. The focus of Cornell's work is on consumer behavior research and how environmental cues impact people's food choices. The Cornell team is specifically focused on helping schools encourage students to make healthier food selections through their program called the Smarter Lunchrooms Movement.
The five commitments of the Smarter Lunchrooms are focused on promoting and encouraging the selection of fruits, vegetables, white milk, defined healthy entrees and reimbursable meals.
Our focus this month is on promoting student selection and consumption of fruits and vegetables.
